Spicy Refrigerator Pickles! Now this recipe just makes my mouth water and my lips smack! I can just imagine slicing one up and putting it on my hot dog. Now for me, it has to be on bread as I love the SPICY taste in a sandwich. How do you like yours? Plain? On a burger? In a salad?

    2 cups sugar
    2 cups vinegar
    2 cups water
    1/4 cup salt
    2 T hot pepper sauce
1/2 t crushed red pepper flakes
    1 t whole black peppercorns
    2 bay leaves
    2-4 dried chili peppers
    1/4 t cayenne pepper
12 to 14 medium pickling cucumbers, thinly sliced

Place sliced cucumbers in a 5 quart empty, clean, ice cream pail with cover
In a saucepan, combine sugar, vinegar, water, salt, hot pepper sauce, crushed red pepper flakes, whole peppercorns, bay leaves, dried chili peppers and cayenne pepper. Bring to a boil and boil 1 minute. Remove from heat and let stand 10 minutes. Pour mixture over cucumbers in ice cream pail. Cover. Refrigerate at least 3 days before serving. Stir occasionally. Remove bay leaves and chili peppers before serving. Store in refrigerator.
