Of all the different types of varieties of pickles, my ‘go-to’ at the store was always the crisp refrigerated dill pickle spears. I would eat the other brands, but I preferred the ones that tasted fresh. I believe that is why two months ago when I opened a friend’s fridge door and noticed homemade pickles I was a little intrigued. They looked fresh, and they tasted even fresher. Come to find out, she made them herself and told me that it was an easy process. Over the past few months, I have been trying to eliminate processed foods, and eat clean and fresh homemade foods, so the desire to try making my own pickles was seared into my mind.
