Dill Pickle Buns! If you like pickles on your sandwiches you are going to love these buns. I enjoy using this recipe when we are having Sloppy Ham Sandwiches. If you are a tailgater, serve these buns with your deli plate and your guests will be YOUR fans, not fans of the game! Dill Pickle Buns 1 tablespoon Red Star yeast 1/4 cup warm water pinch sugar 1 cup cottage cheese 1 tablespoon butter 2 tablespoons white sugar 2 teaspoons dill seed 1 teaspoon dried minced onion 1 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon baking soda 1 egg 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour 1 1/2 pickles, chopped coarsely - not large Topping: egg white 1/4 cup water 2 tablespoons onion flakes 2 tablespoons sesame seed 2 teaspoons dill seed Stir the yeast into the warm water in a large bowl.
